I need to start collecting your $200 Ball Drop commitment and your $250 summer camp fee and registration form.

Parents, Players, and Coaches:

Before I get to the schedule I wanted to take a moment to congratulate Chad Miller who played in the North vs South Orange County All Star game on Saturday night. Chad’s North team won the game 124-105. Chad was a starter in the game and played over half the game scoring 13 points and grabbing a bunch of rebounds. Chad will also be playing in the North vs South Orange County football game. There are very few athletes that have played in both games.

If you are in receipt of this email I am assuming that you are continuing forward in the basketball program. If this is not the case please let me know and I will remove you from my email list.

April 16th

Parents and Players,

I wanted to take a moment to give you a heads up. On Monday May 12th we will begin spring practice, which means we can go after school. At the Varsity and JV level we will be training with Starting Line Fitness as well as practicing with the coaching staff. These workouts will continue through 6/20. On Monday 6/23 summer basketball will begin.

First – If any player has decided not to play next season I would like to know that as soon as possible. I need to know who is continuing forward with the program so I can set up our workouts in the spring and summer. Players wishing to no longer play can let me know by email, voice mail, or in person.

A sample Varsity/JV week may look like this:

Monday – 3:30-4:30 Training & 4:30-6:00 practice in the Gym

Tuesday – Practice 6:30-8:30

Wednesday – 6th Period Training

Thursday – Practice 6:30-8:30

Friday – Training 4:00-5:00

Saturday – Practice 12:00-2:00

A sample sophomore week may look like this:

Monday, Wednesday, Friday 2:00-3:30 (outside or in the gym)

Saturday 2:00-4:00 (in the gym)

These examples are as involved as it can get. Most weeks we will be less involved than this. I will have the calendar for May finalized and to you by the middle of next week at the latest.

These practices and workouts are mandatory for those that would like to make one of our teams next year. For those in spring football you will not be required to attend the “training” sessions since you are already “training” with the football program. However you will be expected to attend the practice sessions.

We will be taking various breaks during the last month of the school year due to gym conflicts and finals. Summer information will be forthcoming.

If anyone has any questions or concerns please let me know.

Best regards,

Coach Van Cleave

April 6th

The weight room will be closed this Monday night so we can watch the NCAA championship game. We will be back on schedule on Wednesday night. The rest of the schedule for the week will be as scheduled on the calendar.

Thanks,

Coach Van Cleave

April 1st

Parents, Players, and Coaches:

I have attached the April Basketball Calendar (also in the download section). Please let me know if you have any questions. For those that are currently in spring sports you are welcome to attend our workouts, especially on non-game days.

Please take advantage of the open weight room on Monday and Wednesday nights at 7:00 PM and Saturday morning at 8:00 AM. We will be incorporating many of the lifts that the Starting Line trainers are doing in our afternoon lifting.

Thanks,

Coach Van Cleave
